For three decades, South Texas Health System Heart has stood as a beacon of high-quality, compassionate cardiovascular care for the people of the Rio Grande Valley. Opened in January 1996 as one of the nation’s first freestanding cardiology—and cardiovascular hospitals and first dedicated heart hospital in Texas—the facility has continued to advance its cardiac care services while treating thousands of patients.

Today, STHS’s award-winning multidisciplinary team of board-certified physicians and specialists, specially trained nurses and support staff provides comprehensive cardiovascular care—from diagnosis and emergency treatment to advanced interventions and post-operative recovery.
